Dr Zéphyrin Luyindula is a highly regarded agronomist with considerable experiences in both oil palm research and operations. Having spent the early part of his career lecturing on agronomy in University and advising on smallholder agriculture in DRC, Dr Luyindula joined PHC in 1990 and was responsible for research programmes covering palm oil, coconut palms and cocoa, as well as overseeing the Company’s breeding programmes at Yaligimba Research Station. He was also in charge of seed production.

In 2008, Dr Luyindula became Assistant Operations Director of the Yaligimba plantation’s 7,700 hectares of oil palm, a big mill and 1,500 employees.

In 2012, he became Head of Operations of PHC in the DRC, in charge of all the operations in plantations and factory. In November 2014, he became Managing Director of PHC with overall responsibility for production and management of the three plantations. In November 2015 to April 2017, he became the Managing Director of Creaty, a new Feronia Company, in charge of research and seed production. He is working now as principal Consultant.

Dr Luyindula has a degree in Agronomic Engineering from the ‘Institut Facultaire des Sciences Agronomiques’ in DRC and a PhD from the ‘Université  Libre de Bruxelles’, Belgium, majoring in mineral nutrition of plants.
